Mindless Behavior is an American boy band featuring the teenagers Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray and Princeton. The band has fast become a modern music phenomenon with an army of screaming fans, and the group’s first debut album #1 Girl, which was released in September 2011, set worldwide trends. Amongst other things, Mindless Behavior has been hailed as the new Jackson five, B2K & New Edition, and one thing is certain: as soon as the four teens were put together in 2008, the chemistry between the boys proved kinetic.
Given his gift for quickly learning new techniques, Prodigy wields incredibly dance and vocal skills. Ray Ray studied under legendary L.A battle Tommy the Clown, while Roc Royal started rapping aged 8. Princeton kicked off his career at the age of four, starring in commercials for Sketchers, McDonalds & Nike as well as music videos.
Their first single “My Girl” was released in 2010 and nominated for a 2011 Viewers’ Choice BET Award. Audiences felt that passion for MB as they swiftly went from touring schools to performing their very own shows. The follow-up single “Mrs Right” turned heads and melted hearts with its combination of infectious beats and sweet, soulful harmony. The third single “Girls Talkin Bout” bounces from electro production into an unforgettable chorus, and the boys from the band have revealed that the song shows “How all these girls talk about us because of our talent and confidence.”
So what does being Mindless mean? According to Ray Ray, “Being Mindless is being confident and unafraid to express yourself.” Certainly the band’s debut album #1 Girl shows that these four talented young men have a lot to give.
