The worst signing of the Barclays Premier League 2011-12 is definitely Stuart Downing. When he came to Liverpool in the summer for £20 million it seemed like a lot of money for an average player. This season that theory has been proved right as Downing has scored no goals and no assists. For a attacking winger those stats are dreadful. What’s more the Englishman’s performances have not been good enough either. He hasn’t been able to beat the defender and his touch is always terriblemaking him a mega flop. If he doesn’t start improving fast I suspect that he won’t last at that football club very long.
