PA_SOCCER-Man-City-133955_7057548-6336027Man City were the runaway winners when they played host to Tottenham winning 6-0!

With just 14 seconds on the clock a miss kick from the French international Hugo Lloris allowed Sergio Aguero a shot on goal. It was parried wide but fell to Jesus Navas who chipped it past the stranded Lloris.

It was going well for Tottenham who looked like they may be able to grab an equaliser. However in the 34th minute a cross from Nasri found Alvaro Negredo at the back post. His shot was going in but was blocked off the line by Vertongen. Unfortunately for them it was a case of wrong place wrong time for Sandro who directed the ball into the back of his own net.

It got worse for Tottenham before the break; Sergio Aguero converting from close range after a great cross from Jesus Navas.

If Tottenham were trying to play the game out, they were failing miserably: 5 minutes into the second half Aguero had his brace. A wonderfully waited pass by Samir Nasri allowed Yaya Toure to spin before passing the ball across the box for Aguero to tap in to the net. 4-0 and Man City fans were hoping for a basketball score.

The fifth goal came soon enough, just 4 minutes after the last, a pass from Fernandino allowed Alvaro Negredo to  turn on the edge of the box and curl the ball past Lloris.

Finally the game came back to were it began; Pablo Zabeleta clearing the ball. There should have been no trouble at all for Dawson, however with Navas chasing all he could do was dangle a hopeful leg at the ball. Navas pounced on the ball and with Lloris charging at him, he calmly slid the ball into the bottom corner.

6-0, and Tottenham fans won’t be forgetting this particular match any time soon!
